Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

If your tattoo is covered with an adhesive bandage (such as Saniderm or similar), remove it after 24-48 hours or as soon as it becomes compromised or begins to leak. It’s normal for fluid to accumulate beneath the wrap. To remove it, gently peel from the bottom using warm water. Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your tattoo.
Once the bandage is removed, cleanse the area with warm water and unscented antibacterial soap. During the first wash, you may notice ink and plasma — this is expected. After the initial cleaning, avoid rubbing the tattoo until it is fully healed. Wash the tattoo 2–3 times daily for two weeks. Pat dry with a clean paper towel — do not use cloth towels.
Apply a thin layer of vitamin E ointment for the first two days. After that, switch to an unscented lotion (we recommend Aveeno Unscented) after each wash. Your tattoo will begin to peel and itch — this is part of the healing process. Do not scratch or pick at it, and avoid any friction or rubbing from clothing or bedding.
Avoid the following during healing:
•     Standing water (baths, pools, hot tubs) for 3 weeks
•     Direct sunlight for 6 weeks — ideally, keep tattoos out of the sun permanently for best longevity
If you have any questions or concerns during the healing process, please contact your artist directly or call the studio.

In addition to traditional ointments and unscented lotions, we proudly recommend Cure Natural Aftercare as an excellent healing option for new tattoos. Cure is a premium, plant‑based balm formulated specifically to support the tattoo healing process.
